About our counselling service
The Parenting Project counselling service is a separate service which operates within the children’s centres so that it is in easily accessible for families.
The aim of the service is to help clients explore issues they may be experiencing. Counselling can help with a variety of problems and can help when a person has become ‘stuck’ or troubled with their current situation.
The Counsellor will not judge you and will offer a safe and confidential place to share issues which may be affecting your life. Just having someone to listen to can help a person understand what’s troubling them. Counsellors do not give advice but can enable a space to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Referrals can be made through any health professional, or clients can self-refer at any centre; just ask for a referral form. For more information about counselling please visit British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or http://www.itsgoodtotalk.org.uk
